Welcome to July's Pick 3 Party hosted by Inspired Owl's Corner and PAWSitively Teaching!  Thanks for joining us!  If you are looking for some inspiration for great activities to celebrate summer or start the school year, you have come to the right place!  Here are a few ideas that I have found on Pinterest that are great ideas for summer whether in school or not.

Great idea for the either the beginning of the school year or the end of the year or any other time.  Kids love seeing their pictures on bulletin boards and they serve as a motivating writing prompt. It would also be a great addition to a year end memory book.  Creative teachers can design other colorful backgrounds. For instance, use the topic of a unit of study, such as the rainforest, to create a background with rainforest animals--perhaps with each student holding a stuffed macaw.  Another example, after a unit on the planets, have the solar system in the background with each student holding an astronaut's helmet.  Teachers write a title for each background. You get the idea! Kids retain more information when they become active participants in the lessons. Your reluctant learners can enjoy this one too!

What fun to create your own gift wrap.  Another creative use: Decorate a long sheet of paper with the watermelon design and use it as a tablecloth or runner on you summer party table. Great to use for summer birthdays or other summer parties.  Fun to make and festive too!

A visual feast!  I love to make festive food items for party tables. This watermelon boat with a pirate motif is a perfect treat for the kids as well as the adults. It is sure to be a hit at your summer bash.

  2. Oh Em Gee! I saw the watermelon prints and had to check it out. How stinking cute is that paper? Honestly, I think it would be cool to print on sheets or to make a kitchen towel. lol. I love watermelon prints during the summer! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Since my head is totally on creating t-shirts, I am thinking the watermelon gift wrap idea would make adorable t-shits. Wishing my kids were still young enough to appreciate the pirate ship fruit bowl. Thanks for sharing.
